| I didn't grow up in just one place. My father was a politician and apparently a very good one from what I have heard. The first few years of my life I lived in England. I guess it was alright, it just always felt too fake and too crowded for me. Our house was warm, but too lonely for a little girl growing up under the care of her father and maids. Then, he was assigned the post at Port Royal and we moved across the ocean and took up residence in the Caribbean. I loved it there. There was plenty of room and it wasn't so cold all of the time. I could look out and watch the jeweled sea from the window of my bedroom. There were trees to climb and places to explore. There was a wildness about the whole island that the adventurer in me took to instantly. I loved growing up in Port Royal. It was a fitting match for my spirit.
